This self-drive holiday lets you find peace and tranquillity at three of our historic hotels famous for their bathing facilities. The tour offers white beaches, bathing huts, a spa and delicious gourmet experiences, and will appeal to fans of the hit Danish series Badehotellet, set in Skagen – Denmark’s northernmost point – in the summers of the 1920s.
A relaxing four-day package that starts at Lillesand Hotel Norge, a charming hotel situated right on the wharf in the heart of Lillesand.
On the first evening, you’ll enjoy an exquisite three-course dinner in the hotel restaurant with its unmatched sea views. After a good night’s sleep in one of the hotel’s individually decorated rooms, a healthy Lillesand breakfast awaits – perhaps followed by a morning dip? Spend a relaxing morning walking along the beautiful archipelago.
Your trip then continues to Farsund and Rederiet Hotell.
Once settled in, you’ll be served an exciting three-course dinner in the hotel’s à la carte restaurant, housed in the historical shipping company building.
After a good night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast, collect your beach bag containing snacks and beach towels. Perhaps you’ll choose to spend the day at Badehus, the town’s bathing hut. Built in 1890 to promote swimming as a healthy activity, it has a diving tower, small bathing beach for the little ones and sauna. Alternatively, take a trip to the unique and unspoiled Lista beaches, which extend for 14 km. Find your very own private chalk-white beach and enjoy the sense of seclusion.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to Sola Strand Hotel, located between the sand dunes on beautiful Sola beach, just outside Stavanger.
Once you’ve arrived, enjoy the tranquillity of Nordsjøbadet Spa’s wellness centre, with its pool, saunas, cold plunge pool, foot bath and attractive relaxation areas. Then savour a delicious three-course dinner in historical surroundings overlooking the sea. Next morning, why not enjoy breakfast on the terrace – perhaps after a refreshing morning swim in the North Sea?

The building which houses Rederiet Hotell dates from the mid-1950s, when shipowner Andrew Glastad built new offices for Mosvolds Rederi in the contemporary Functionalist style. The shipping business remained here until the end of the 1990s,
when the building was converted into a hotel. A few years later, the neighbouring Reymerts hus – one of the oldest houses in Farsund – was purchased and
incorporated into the hotel. Today Rederiet Hotell offers accommodation in 17 comfortable guest rooms to meet most requirements, including suites
and family rooms. Reymerts hus has five exquisite guest rooms representing the age of the privateers and sailing ships, each named after one of the town’s
