SELECT ROOM AND DEPARTURE:
Set aside a couple of days to spend with your loved one and enjoy each other's company in historical settings and with wonderful meals. This short break in Sogndalstrand and Sola has been designed for the very same purpose: so you and your partner can make time for each other.
You start this self-drive holiday at the idyllic old trading post of Sogndalstrand. The surrounding region, Sokndal, is the first in Scandinavia to become a member of the Cittaslow movement, originating from Italy. The main goal for Cittaslow is to improve quality of life, local identity, hospitality and local culinary culture.
Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell is situated 101 km from Stavanger, 150 km from Kristiansand and 30 km from Egersund.
You will receive a warm, friendly welcome to Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell, a beautiful destination from the 19th century which has been wonderfully restored. The actual hotel is made up of nine different houses, and the street between them is the "lobby". The hotel chefs live by the motto: authentic home-made food has local roots.
The next day you continue by car to Jæren with its beautiful, long sandy beaches and the pebbled coastline of Sola.
Distance between Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell and Sola Strand Hotel is 93 km.
You arrive to a warm welcome at Sola Strand Hotel. This hotel dates back to 1914 and has an idyllic location right on Sola beach. With more than two thousand metres of sandy beach and magnificent views, there is plenty of rest and recreation on offer, and on top of all that, the hotel has a wonderfully relaxing spa, Nordsjøbadet Spa.
Waiting for you in your room is the symbol of our romantic breaks – a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh flowers.

Sogndalstrand is an old port from the days of sailing ships. In 1994 the entire area was listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage,
and a hotel a little out of the ordinary was born.
Enthusiasts Eli Laupstad Omdal and Jan Oddvar Omdal started with Krambukafé – the general store café – in June 1994, as a voluntary endeavour to
bring this unique location from the age of sailing into focus; an entire small town was in decline, and something had to be done. Today Sogndalstrand
Kulturhotell comprises eight different houses with
15 guest rooms, a restaurant, café, conference room, prison pub, etc. The oldest house dates from 1831.
